How many viewings does it take to secure an offer?

Prior to Covid-19, the housing market revolved around viewings. Since the lockdown was lifted, viewings are now permitted, for those that are not in the vulnerable category. The government guidance to date, is that first viewings, wherever possible should be done virtually.


We are constantly in touch with estate agents to understand how the housing market is evolving. Since the housing lockdown has been lifted, it's evident that some sellers and buyers remain reluctant about allowing strangers in their homes to conduct viewings.


Based on 2019 data, the average number of viewings it takes to secure an offer on a home was 19 (up from 11 in 2015). This begs the question:


as a seller, are you willing to have 19 or so viewings in order to secure a sale at this current time?
